Coping with the Heat

OK, my friends around here keep telling me this isn’t hot weather. I know it will get worse but the sheep and I are already complaining. We all have different ways of coping. Some don’t mind it as much and even can take naps in it.

But most take advantage of the shade – some resting,  some grazing.

Cassie decides that the well head is the coolest place.

And lying down is even better, I guess.

The new lambs have plenty of shade in their stall.

And, of course, water is really important on these hot days. The sheep have access to an automatic waterer but I also like to give them other sources in case they can’t remember where one is. Of course, you have to make sure they don’t tip them over!

Marley, “Did you forget to check something?!”

Well, they have their way to stay cool and I have mine – don’t go outside when it’s this hot!
