Well, it seems a little silly to whine, once more, about the heat – especially since it has cooled off some. But, I wanted to get in one more post before talking about shearing day.
Dealing with the heat requires the extra water I’ve talked about, but here are a few more photos emphasizing that. First, don’t these sheep just look hot?
The new lambs have found the inside water.
And Lily at least has found an outside waterer.
And Cassie can’t wait for me to fill the container.
The chickens are doing ok with plenty of shade and lots of fruits and veggies
Another part of hot weather is doing what you can to reduce things that could burn – like our pastures. There is nothing left to graze so they needed mowing.
I found someone to do the mowing.
The sheep seemed oblivious to the tractor – and all the dust it kicked up.
This does look better.
Paridot is looking forward to shearing, I think.
Hang in there, Paridot. Relief is in sight.
